Dr. Manto grew up in the Boston area. He completed his undergraduate Biology/chemistry degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He then worked in research for 3 years. His research was primarily in Infectious disease, neutrophil function. He had several publications in infectious disease. He attended medical school at the University of Massachusetts. Dr Manto went on to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at Harvard Medical Schools Mt Auburn Hospital.

Rotating through several major Boston Hospitals. Then he went on to pursue a job in hospital medicine for several years before entering private practice. Then moved to Georgia with his family working at the Cowles Clinic. After ten years he joined Walmart Health, where his goal was to make great medical care available to all.
